Daniel J. Walters, 76, of Millbury passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Dan was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 22, 1938 to Daniel J. Sr. and Arlottie (Nixon) Walters. He was a 1956 graduate of Macomber High School. Dan had worked as an Ironworker for 35 years with the Ironworkers Local 55. He will be missed by his family and especially his grandchildren, where he was Todd'™s biggest fan and supporter of all his sporting events and how he would pick up Kylie from preschool and take her to a Chinese restaurant so the staff could teach her how to use chopsticks. He loved spending time with his family. Surviving are his loving wife of 56 yrs. Shirley; son and daughter-in-law, Todd & Wendy Walters; grandchildren, Kylie and Todd Walters; sister Beverley (Albert) Kalisik. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; son, Greg; brother, James. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8pm at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury where his funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am and where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Dan'™s memory may do so to the donor'™s choice.
