Darla J. (Coy) Ladd, 76, of Northwood, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017. She was born in Oregon, Ohio on October 16, 1940 to Rollin & LaNeice (Hefflinger) Coy. Darla passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Darla is a 1958 graduate of Olney High School. She worked for Sears Roebuck & Co for 40 years before retiring in 1999. During her retirement years Darla found great joy in working as a food and product demonstrator at Meijer in Northwood. This gave her a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and share her energy and enthusiasm for life. Those who knew Darla would tell you that she was an extremely selfless person who would drop everything to help anyone in need. She took great pride in how her yard looked and enjoyed being outdoors with her friends and neighbors. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with family and spoil her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Coy, and her son-in-law, Gregory Guy. She is survived by her children, Debbie (Tim) Kayser and Jeff (Cindy) Ladd; her loving grandchildren, Jenna (Doug), Justin (Emily), Jessica (Mike), Megan, and Mallory. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Toledo Hospital Oncology, Dr Atallah at UTMC Pain Management, the fine folks at Heartland of Oregon, and the beautiful souls at Hospice of Perrysburg. Friends and family may visit the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616 on Monday, September 4, 2017 from 12:00 pm-8:00 pm. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Darla's name may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
