Darlene Kay
Bower
July 23, 1962 – May 16, 2026
Darlene Kay Bower, 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026, following a lengthy battle with health issues. Born on July 13, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Estella (Mincks) Bower.
Darlene found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved collecting jewelry, spending time coloring in her coloring books, and especially treasured her sparkly bracelets, which reflected her bright and cheerful spirit. Darlene spent her last 17 years living her "best life ever" in Luther Home of Mercy's Supported Living program, where she was able to develop life- long friendships, travel, and attend many activities and events that she loved! She spent many years attending the Genesis day program site in Northwood as well. This last year, her health required her to move to Luther Home of Mercy's campus in Williston.
She will be deeply missed by her sister, Marlene Moore, as well as the many friends who became like family to her over the years. She was loved dearly and all will miss her beautiful smile, large hugs, and sweet, but fireball personality!
In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her brother, Dwight Bower.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 9:30 am - 10:30 am, at Luther Home of Mercy, 5810 N Main St., Williston, OH 43468. A funeral service will begin promptly at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery.
