Darlene D. 'œSlug' Pickering, 76, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012. Darlene was born on April 18, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to Rueben and Cora Belle (Robinson) Redieck. Darlene was employed with Rieter Automotive for 14 years, retiring in 1998. Darlene was an avid bowler, enjoyed gardening, and loved cooking dinner for her family. She was an avid Detroit Tigers and Ohio State Buckeye Fan. Her true passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Darlene is survived by her children; Don (Angie) Hales, Dawn (Terry Picking) Hales, Charles (Amanda Cooper) Pickering; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathy Fisher and June Murray; aunt, Eunice DeFalco; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christopher Hales; grandson, Chad Lodzinski; and sisters, Georgia Redieck and Joan Barailoux. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday, August 28th from 2:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
