David Louis "Ebs" Eberflus Jr., of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at the age of 43. David was born on March 9, 1972, in Oregon, Ohio, to David Louis Eberflus Sr., and Joyce (Daugherty) Eberflus. He graduated from Clay High School and later served our great nation as a United States Marine. David served honorably and fought for our freedoms in the Gulf War.
David loved building, particularly rough framing. He took pride in his work and felt it was his calling to build something from nothing. He knew that this structure would be around for decades. He often would show his family houses that he built, as well a beautiful and intricate business structures. He was a union carpenter for several years before becoming self-employed, but resumed working with the union in 2015. David's first love, next to his 5 children, was softball. He played ball on many teams as a child through roughly 2012 when he became injured. David traveled all over the country playing ball, including national championships, even playing at Disney several times. His lifelong goal was to get a championship ring. He loved the brotherhood and the competition of the game. He was one of the best hitters around and could hit a homerun on almost any field. His strength was staggering and it was displayed when he would hit the ball so hard its travel was so high and far it would become difficult to track by sight. When he could no longer play he coached and mentored his daughter and other young girls who continue to express how much he helped them to this day.
David had a huge heart and rarely said no. He would help whomever he could, whenever he could. His absence has left a legacy and a love that will continue to be felt by all who knew. Dave came to the Lord while living in North Carolina.
David married Tiffani (Clark) on March 13, 1998, and she survives. David loved his family, especially his children. He is survived by his "baby girls" Randee "Sunshine", Trinity "Turtle Butt" and Faith "Pudgy Bear" and his beloved adult children Courtney and Jordan. He is survived by his mother Joyce Skirvin, sister Michelle Eberflus and his best friend from childhood, Charlie Rose. David was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
