David Armondo Garcia, of Toledo, passed away after a long illness at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center on Friday, July 25, 2003, surrounded by his loving family. David was born to Jesus and Rita (Rodriguez) Garcia in Houston, Texas. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. David worked for the Libbey-Owens-Ford Company as a glass worker for 27 years before his retirement. During the 1980's he also worked for the Lucas County Corrections Department. David was a long time member of St. Thomas Church and an active member of the YMCA and PAL Surviving are his loving wife, Linda; son, David (Connie) Garcia; daughrers, Michelle (Alejandro) Garcia, and Deanna (Daniel) Benavides; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Jesus and Tony Garcia; sisters, Amelia DeLeon, Ninfa Torres, Bertha Trejo, Ruth Garcia and Dora Navarro; brother-in-law, Val Zarate; many loving nieces and nephews and his special companion, his boxer dog, Chata. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Amparo Ochoa and Esperanza Garcia. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 9 pm with Rosary services at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 9:15 and continue to St. Thomas Aquinas Church for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Clay Township Cemetery.
