David L. Pfeiffer, 69, of Graytown, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at his home. Dave was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on January 13, 1944 to Wilbur H. and Mabel B. (Nissen) Pfeiffer. He was a 1962 graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School. On February 27, 1965, he married Dawn Hathaway. From 1963 to 1969, Dave served in the Ohio Air National Guard. Dave was a lifelong farmer raising grain and dairy cows. In 2006 and 2007, he was named Farmer of the Year by the Ottawa County Soil and Water Conservation Board. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. His hobbies included bird watching and traveling to his favorite casinos in Michigan and Ohio. His true passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Dave is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dawn; children, Bryan (Sheila) Pfeiffer, Troy (Robin) Pfeiffer and Brenda Frederick; grandchildren, Adam Pfeiffer, Zane Troknya, Cody and Nicholas Pfeiffer, and Katelyn Frederick; brother, Ronald (Ann) Pfeiffer; and sister, Donna (Ron) Willoughby. Dave is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, William Frederick. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Monday, July 8th, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 9th, 2013 at 11:00 am in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 17877 W. State Route 579, Martin, Ohio, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Elliston Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
