Dean C. Beckman, 82, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Dean was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 14, 1932 to Albert and Gladys (Sigler) Beckman. He was a 1951 Clay High School graduate. He married the love of his life, Donna (Eggert) on May 1, 1954. Dean is an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He later worked for LOF as a supervisor for 36 years before retiring in 1991. Dean and his wife were life long camping enthusiast, starting with an open floor tent to a luxurious RV. In his early years he enjoyed woodworking with his daughter Denise and going to different area craft shows. Together Dean and Donna were very active in the Heritage Church Senior Group. What was most important to Dean was spending time with his loving family, especially watching his grandchildren at their different sporting events and activities. He was truly a great man and will be deeply missed by all.
Dean is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna; children, Douglas Beckman, Diane (Tom) Feyes, Denise (Lloyd) Wright; grandchildren, Dan (Kate) Feyes, Andy (Kelsey) Feyes, Jenelle (Samer) Ahmad, Caleb (Kaitlyn) Wright, Sara Beckman, Dennis Beckman, Dawn Drake, Paul (Amy) Drake III, Mike (Kim) Drake, Jill (Bill) Dirlam; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Shirley and Alyce. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Kathy Beckman; and brother, Melvin Jr.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial contributions to be directed to Heritage Christian Church. The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Orchard Villa for the loving care they provided for our loved one.
