Debra L. Vermilyea, 61, of Graytown, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015, at St. Vincent Medical Center. Debra was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 18, 1953 to Henry and Mary Jane (Briggs) Grohnke. She is a graduate of Bowsher High School. Debra worked various jobs over the years, but most recently was employed by Bench Farms. She enjoyed quilting and was admired for her crafting skills. Her love for children spilled over not only to her child and grandchildren, but to other children as well. Debra was also very active with at St. Peter Lutheran Church (Blackberry) and was involved in different Women's Groups. Debra is survived by her loving husband, James Vermilyea; daughter, Angela (Greg) Laub; granddaughter, Kristine Laub; grandsons, Brady and Keston Walleman; and survived by siblings and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents. Visitation be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Thursday, October 29 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280). Funeral services will begin in St. Peter Lutheran Church (Blackberry), 17877 West St. Rt. 579, Martin, Ohio at 10:00 am. on Friday. The family will begin greeting friends in church at 9 am. Interment will follow in Elliston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to St. Peter Lutheran Church Blackberry, Cleveland Clinic Liver Transplant Program or St. Vincent Medical Center Intensive Care Unit.
