Delilah "Faye" Lassiter, 71, of Genoa, OH passed away March 22, 2005 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Mayfield, KY on September 25, 1933 to Jesse Lee and Lois (Hamblin) Young. Faye and her husband, Garvin, owned and managed the Lassiter Motel for years in Genoa. She was a member of Frey Road Church of Christ and enjoyed square dancing, bowling, bunco and gardening. Faye thoroughly enjoyed life.
Surviving are her husband, Garvin Carroll; daughters, Carolyn Faye (Melvin) Blausey and Janice Kaye (Michael Merren) Daman; son, John Howard (Anne Mercadante) Lassiter; sisters, Geneva Hayden of Hickman, KY and Thelma Jones of Kansas City, MO; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Faye was preceded in death by her parents; children, James Lee and Michelle Lynn Lassiter; brother, Howard Young and sister, Mildred Freeman.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Ave. on Friday from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy in Faye's memory can be made to either the Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
