Dell R. Cole, 88, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo on April 16, 1927 to William and Helen (Beaudry) Cole. Dell was a glass worker at Libby Owens Ford for 35 years before retiring in 1989. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Dell enjoyed golf, vacations in Myrtle Beach and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dell is survived by his children, Michael (Luann) Cole, Sandra (Ken) Henzler, Jeffrey (Bettyann) Cole, Kimberly Cole, Kathleen (Doug) Leidy, Peggy Cole (Ricky Knerr) and Christina (James) Sorg; brother, James Cole; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia (Makin) Cole; parents; brother, Joseph Cole; and sisters, Dorthy Toth, Geraldine McSweeney, Dynse Wilcik and Ellen Marie Cole.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Road on Friday June 19 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 20 at 10:15 a.m. and will proceed to St. Ignatius Catholic Church for a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private in Restlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or a charity of the donor's choice.
