Delmont S. Hosley, 84, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. Del was born to Seth "Buck" and Nellie Hosley on December 31, 1930 in Curtice, Ohio. Del was a 1948 graduate of Clay High School where he performed in the marching band for four years. He married Joyce Burger on June 1, 1951, and together they farmed for 52 years. Del was a life long member of Christ United Methodist Church as well as the Ohio Farmer's Union and Farm Bureau. In the winter, he worked for Matlack Trucking, American Shipyards, and as a mechanic at Titsworth Trucking. Del enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards and traveling with his family. He cherished the trips he took in his motor home with his grandchildren.
Del is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce; sons, Raymond (Marty) Hosley and Jeffrey Hosley; grandchildren, David (Susan) Hosley, Deanna (Chad) Rivera, Denice (Jeff) Ward; great-grandchildren, Noa and Ajeh Hosley, Gavin Ward, Logan and Mikalah Rivera; along with Karen Hosley who was like a daughter to him. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Douglas Hosley.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11:30 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Williston Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Christ United Methodist Church, Jerusalem Township Fire Department or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
