Delmos G. DeFriece, 59, of Northwood, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 16, 2005, at The Toledo Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Delmos was born in Bristol, TN on May 17, 1945, to James and Millie (Smith) DeFriece. He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving his country during the Viet Nam War from 1965-1967. Delmos graduated from the Baptist Bible Institute. He worked at the Lucas Co. Job And Family Services 15 years as a Social Worker. However, his real LOVE was being a Pastor for many churches in the Northwest Ohio area which included, Oregon, Toledo, Northwood, Genoa, and currently Pastor of Northside Baptist Church. He also served on various committees of Maumee Valley Association of Southern Baptists, as well as Night Chaplain for St. Charles Hospital. He will be remembered for his generosity and kind heart to those in need.
Surviving are his loving wife of 34 years, Dolores; children, Daniel (Jennifer), Mary (Ryan) Walters, Amy (Craig) Sigler, Chad (Ambre); grandchildren, Samuel, Nathaniel, Madison, Abigail, Evelyn; sisters and brothers, Christine Gerogosian, James DeFriece, June DeFriece, Shelby Peto, and Delmos's twin brother, Dallas DeFriece, and several nieces and nephews. Delmos was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Geneva Hopkins, brothers, Glenford and Burton DeFriece.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Woodville Road Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury on Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at Main Street United Brethren Church, 705 N. Main Street, Walbridge, Ohio at 11:00 a.m. where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
