DeWayne G. Paul, 83, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home, Tuesday, August 2, 2005. Dewey was born on November 19, 1921, in Bellevue, Ohio, to Arthur and Carrie (Tillie) Paul. He graduated from Woodville School System. On December 12, 1947, he married Lucille "Teal" Mominee. He had worked 25 years as finance and insurance manager for Pemberton Cadillac. Dewey also worked for Toledo Edison for 10 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church; Cooley Canal Yacht Club where he served as Chaplin for many years and also a member of the GBU.
In addition to his loving wife, Teal; Dewey is survived by his children, Larry (Darlene) Paul, Kathy (Dennis) Healy, Terry (Debbie) Paul; grandchildren, Holli (Michael) Lones, Jamie (Jason) Blazevich, Heather (Jerry) Keller, Nicholas, Brittany and Brooke Paul; great-grandchildren, Cody Keller, Julia Blazevich, and Michael Lones; sister, Marcille Smith. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and 6 sisters; twin great-grandsons, Jake and James Blazevich.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-9 p.m. at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in First St. John Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman Road, Oregon, where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in First St. John Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Dewey's memory are asked to consider First St. John Church Day School or to Northwest Ohio Hospice.
