Dewayne D. Zunk, 80, of Genoa, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
He was born in Williston, Ohio to Edward Carl and Lillian Helen (Eppling) Zunk. Dewayne was married to his beloved wife Bonnie Jeanne Wineland and she preceded him in death in 1969. Dewayne was employed with Libbey Owens Ford as a first bender for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston, and enjoyed playing winter softball in Florida, bowling, motor sports, and golfing. He also served as a Boy Scout volunteer.
Dewayne is survived by his children, Barbara Strzelecki, Marilyn Zunk, David and Bruce Zunk; grandchildren, Dennis (Barbara ) Mazur Jr., Chris (Shelly) Mazur, and Bonnie (Dusty) Hinkle; seven great grandchildren; sister in law, Nora Zunk; brother in laws Bob Bodi of Oregon and Dick Dunberger of St. Petersburg, FL. Also survived by many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roger and Zeke Zunk.; sisters, Lorraine Duvall and Sally Burnham.; and special friend, Kathleen Miller.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road on Wednesday from 3:00pm until time of funeral service at 7:00 pm. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, or American Heart Association.
