Dewey G. Pounds, 68, of Toledo, Ohio passed away November 3, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Toledo, OH on December 1, 1939 to James and Laura (Mills) Pounds. Dewey was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and had been employed by the Nickelson Concrete Company for 17 years. He also worked for the PTI Railroad Limo Service for 15 years, retiring in 2005.
Surviving is his wife, Gladys; daughter, Melissa Myers (Dustin Tabor); grandson, Dustin Tabor II; brother, James (Barb); sisters, Laura (John) Creekmore, Mary (Frank) Cox, Marsha Alemenos and Virginia (Joe) Gedert; brothers-in-law. William (Virginia) Myers, Harry (Angie) Myers; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (Ken) Ceglio, Alice Silcox, Esther Myers and Virginia (Gary) Shondel; best friend, Lenny and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family would like to thank all the nurses at St. Vincents and St. Annes Cancer Centers for their care and concern, and a very special thanks to Angel. Dewey will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.
