Obituary

Dezianne Virginia Peart, age 21, passed away on March 21, 2026, at her home in Custar, Ohio.

She is survived by her parents, Jennell and Jason Durst, Steve Peart, and Candy Carr; her siblings, Paul (Rachel) Sansing, Steven, Evan, and Emma Peart, and Alijah Reed; her step-brother, Calob Durst; and her grandparents, Pamela (Don) Stephan, Martha Peart, and Karen (Gary) Carr. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Stephan, with whom she shared a very special bond.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, Dezianne attended East Broadway Elementary through fifth grade before continuing her education at home due to her health challenges. She later received services through the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities and attended Adult Day Services at WLI in Bowling Green, where she found joy, laughter, and meaningful friendships. Dezi loved being part of her community and truly cherished the connections she made there.

Dezi had a deep love for animals, especially her kittens. She enjoyed drawing, swimming, going on coffee runs, and spending time watching movies with her family. Her laughter was contagious, bringing smiles to everyone around her. She was kind, generous, and had a truly pure heart. Some of her favorite moments were the simplest ones, taking naps and sitting outside in the sunshine.

Dezianne lived with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, a rare and degenerative form of epilepsy that caused frequent and severe seizures throughout her life. She faced countless hospitalizations and many critical moments with remarkable strength. In addition, she lived with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and was later diagnosed with psychogenic non-epileptic seizures, which brought their own challenges. Despite the difficulties she endured, Dezi approached life with resilience and a fighting spirit that never faded.

She will be remembered for her love of life, her gentle heart, her kindness to animals, and her beautiful, unforgettable smile.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A memorial gathering will take place at the Oregon Community Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to bring a dish or dessert to share.

In honor of Dezi, guests are encouraged to wear something pink, her favorite color, as she never cared for black.
