Dolores Mae Avalos 80, formerly of Toledo passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010 in Hillside Country Living Center Bryan, Ohio. Mrs. Avalos was born in Toledo on September 2, 1929 to Clyde and Emma (Olson) Light. On June 26, 1949, she married Louis Avalos Jr. and he preceded her in death in 2003. Dolores was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of Avalos Carryout in the Birmingham neighborhood of East Toledo. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Angie (Tom) Whitaker, Shesha Kennedy and Dave (Nancy) Avalos; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; brothers, Bill, Jerry (Carol) and Charles (Ruth) Light; and sisters, Charlotte (Frank) Avalos and Ruth (Gary) Horton. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Louis III and Mike Avalos; brothers, Joe, Jimmy, and Floyd Light and sister, Genevieve Martin.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday May 23rd from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home Monday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in N. Oregon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions in Dolores'™s memory may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
