Dolores M. Jeskey, 75, passed away on August 29, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 22, 1941 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Mike and Mary (Yudasz) Turkaly. Dolores grew up in the small coal mining town of Windsor Heights, West Virginia and graduated from Wellsburg High School. She went on to get her nursing degree from the Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing. On October 20, 1962, she married the love of her life, Herman, who preceded her in death in 2013. Through the years, Dolores worked for several doctors as well as at Mercy St. Charles Hospital for 8 years before retiring in 2003. One of her greatest adventures in nursing was participating for over 15 years in the Midwest Medical Mission trips to the Dominican Republic. Dolores was very active at Coy Elementary, Fasset Middle School and Clay High School over the years. She often chaperoned at Camp Mohican, worked on the yearbook, PTA, book fairs, and was a room mother. Dolores was a member of the Band Booster Club at Clay and could be found at many football and basketball games. She was a member of St. Adalbert's and a current member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Rosary Society at both churches. Dolores also participated in the St. Charles Auxiliary and the Oregon Business and Professional Women's Group. She was very proud that her children all have college educations and could find no greater joy in life then spending time with her family.
Dolores is survived by her children, Jean Jeskey, Lori Gardull, Kathy Jeskey; grandchildren, Brandy (Chris) Huddleston, Jr., Madison, Carly, Connor and Samantha; great grandson, Dominic; sister, Mary Ann Sivalski; brother, Michael "Buck" (Linda) Turkaly; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; infant son; son-in-law, Pete Gardull.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Friday from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm where Altar Rosary Society Services will take place at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at Epiphany of the Lord – St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 729 White St., Toledo at 10:00 am where family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Dolores' memory are asked to consider the Jeskey Grandchildren Education Fund in care of Huntington Bank.
