Domitila Montano 98, of Delta, Ohio and formerly of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 9, 2017, surrounded by her family. Domitila was born in Reynosa, Mexico on October 16, 1918 to Luis and Paula (Cadena) Lopez. She worked as a cook at Magruder Hospital and shared her passion for authentic Mexican cuisine with her family and friends. Domitila enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and sewing for her family. She was a genuine people person who found great joy in consoling others and offering advice to those around her. Domitila was a faithful servant of God who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Domitila is survived by her children, Anita Ortiz, Helen ( Armando) Losoya, Maria Montano, and Louis ( Joi) Montano; grandchildren, Randall, Melissa, Regina, Armando Jr., Juanita, Maria Soyla, Justin and Janelle; 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Santa Anna Montano Sr.; son, Santa Anna Montano Jr.; grandson, Joshua Montano; sister, Julia Hernandez; brother, Gilberto Lopez; and son-in-law, Sergio Ortiz. Private services for immediate family will be held. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
