Don Lee Kowalka, 59, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at his Perrysburg home. Lee was born in Toledo on September 28, 1952 to Donald M and Suzanne (Thomas) Kowalka. He was a 1971 graduate of Lake High School, excelling in football and baseball. Upon graduation, Lee was drafted in the US Army and was honorably discharged. Lee worked along side his father at the family'™s many service stations and car washes. Currently, he was employed at Kuhlman Corporation. Lee took great joy in family and friends; always stating 'œWhat Can I bring?'. Lee enjoyed spending time with his many friends at Fricker'™s in Perrysburg and watching Ohio State Buckeye games on 'œThe Big Screen'. He enjoyed golfing (scoring a hole-in-one), playing poker, fishing, and weekends at Put-In-Bay with his friends.
Lee was preceded in death by his father Donald on July 24, 2011. Surviving are his mother, Suzanne; sister, Lynda Saneholtz; nephews, Dean (Jackie) Smith and David (fiancé Audrey Leslie) Smith; great-nephew and niece, Ian and Scarlett Smith; also his cousin Wayne DeTray.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Lee'™s memory are asked to consider the Alzheimer'™s Association in honor of his father.
