Don E. Niederhauser, 86, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on October 30, 2022. He was born in Marion County in the family farmhouse to Stanley and Phyllis (Kissling) Niederhauser. Don graduated from Clay High School where he excelled at football and was named 1st Team All Ohio and recruited by Woody Hayes of The Ohio State University where he played under him for 2 years. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his service, he went on to play for Findlay College and would eventually obtain his Master's Degree. After his playing career he was the 1st inductee of the Clay High School Athletic Hall of Fame. On February 27, 1960 he married Paula (Beckhusen). He taught at Start High School for 31 years retiring in 1996. Don had a passion for teaching and coaching, which he did for 46 years. He was an Elder at Spirit and Truth Church and a member of Gideon's International for 37 years. He was a gentle giant, that had a strong faith and love for his family who will miss him dearly.

Don is survived by his wife of 62 years, Paula, daughters, Donella (Larry) Wilt, Doreen (Michael) Ferguson, Dawn (Scott) Carr, grandchildren, Nathan Yarick, Jacob (Melissa) Ferguson, Hannah Wilt, Marissa Wilt, Gabriel Wilt, Josiah (Hannah) Ferguson, Benjamin Wilt, and Ciara Carr, Elizabeth Wilt, Connor Carr; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Amelia Ferguson; siblings, Gary (Theresa) Niederhauser, Dave Niederhauser, Sharon Brandeberry, Linda Strawser and Mark (Laurie) Niederhauser. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Joanne Gilliam.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Spirit and Truth Church, 525 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, Ohio, 43616 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
