Donald W. Boening, 77, of Toledo, Ohio passed away January 6, 2009, at University Medical Center. He was born in Toledo on February 3, 1931, to Arnold and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Boening. Donald was a 1949 graduate of Waite High School. He was a U. S. Marine Veteran serving in the Korean War. He retired from CSX Railroad after 40 years of employment. Don was a lifetime member of the Lou Diamond Marine League and the Northwood American Legion Post. Don was preceded in death by his parents; first wife and mother of his children, Deloris S. Boening; children, Debra A. (Richard) Klatt, Daniel W. (Karen) Boening; grandchildren, Sarah Celeste Klatt, Heidi Z. Boening and Jamie. Also surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Koles; stepdaughter, Rachelle (Scott) Selee; stepson, Randy (Vicki) Chudey; grandchildren, Austin, Alexandra, Ashley Selee, Kristine, Randy II, Jennifer Chudey; many, many relatives and friends. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with interment following in Toledo Memorial Park.
