Donald J. (Don) Brown, 93, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2018 at Lane Park of Oregon. Don Attended Waite High School and proudly served our country in Italy during WWII. Upon his return to the United States in 1945, Don married the love of his life, Rhodene Rich. Don and Rhodene were married for 68 years until her passing in January 2014. Throughout their marriage, Don and Rhodene exhibited the true meaning of love, devotion, and family values to their children, grandchildren, and others whose lives they touched. Don was a retiree of the Sun Oil Refinery, member of Clark Street United Methodist Church, and VFW Post 2510. He and Rhodene spent many summers camping at East Harbor State Park and Silver Lake in Angola, IN. Since 2014, Don has driven daily to visit Rhodene's gravesite. He will now be able to rest in peace next to his beloved.
Surviving are his children, Susan (Jack) Shrader, Cathy Durco, Larry (Mary) Brown; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Joe Durco.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
