Donald E. Collins, 80, of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Mr. Collins was born in Hughes Branch, West Virginia on August 20, 1931 to Benjamin and Lillie (Ray) Collins. Donald was a self employed drywall finisher for over 40 years. He also was employed as a delivery driver for Vernor'™s during the 1960s. Don was a member of the Northend Church of God and the North Toledo Arrow Club. He enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing and camping, but the true love of his life were his grandchildren. Surviving are his children, Linda Parker, Cindy Roach, Tom (Sally) Wagner, Sue (Ron) Hutto, Mike (Irene) Collins, Deanna (Tom) Gercak , Donald (Nancy) Collins; 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; daughter, Sharon Anspach; 2 brothers and one sister. A memorial celebration for Don will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 4 to 8 pm at the Northwood VFW Post #2984, 102 W Andrus Road in Northwood.
