Donald V. Finch, 72, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 11, 2022 in Port Clinton, Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio November 12, 1949 to Vernon and Jean (Helbing) Finch. Don graduated from Waite High School in 1967 and Owens Technical College in 1969. For six years, Don served in the United States Army Reserve 983 Army Engineering Battalion. Don was employed with Kroger Supermarkets for 37 years, retiring in 2005. As a lifelong athlete, Don enjoyed playing tennis in Ohio & Florida, slow-pitch softball, golf, and fishing. He was a chess enthusiast and had a great interest in railroad history. Don is survived by his siblings, Bonnie (Alex) Thomas & Gary (Marlene) Finch; niece & nephews, Emily (Duncan) Stewart, Peter (Brittaney) Cordas, Andrew (Sherrill) Cordas, Scott (Sabrina) Thomas, Craig (Erin) Thomas, Mike (Wendy) Finch, Steve (Chrissy) Finch, and Jeff (Deanna) Finch; and brother-in-law, John Cordas. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joan Cordas. Private family services will be held at Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
