Donald R. Granger, 85, of Oregon, OH passed away from medical complications on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at UTMC. He was born in Toledo, OH on October 27, 1936 to Richard D. Granger and raised by him and his stepmother Mildred (Slee) Granger. Don attended Waite High School but graduated from Clay High School in 1954. He worked with Jim Crandall and built many of the homes in Oregon, including his dream home on Maumee Bay where he founded Driftwood Commons. He was most well-known for Granger's Automotive which he owned and operated for 52 years. He enjoyed boating, classic cars, travelling to Florida and spending time with his family and friends. He was always up for a Sunday Funday trip to the Bay for a Frosty's pizza. Don is survived by his fiancé Sharon Krauser; children, Michael D. (Tina), Michele A. (Nelson) Schafer, Scott G., Julie R. (Scott) Shell; grandchildren, Bradley, Sean, Heather, Joshua, Reed, Seth, Ashley, Scottie, Lindsay, Ross, Taylor, Grant, Hunter and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Mark, and wife of 56 years, Patricia. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd., Oregon, Ohio where the family will greet visitors after 10:00 A.M. Inurnment will take place in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
