Toledo Blade Run Date: Friday 7/4/2008 Picture: No Symbol: No  Donald E. Knecht  Donald E. Knecht, 75 of Oregon, Ohio passed away on July 3, 2008 at his residence. He was born on February 1, 1933 to Ernest and Alice (Smith) Knecht. Don was employed as a brakeman at (Conrail) Norfolk Southern for 40 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Don was also a member of the Railroad Retirees and the V.F.W. Post #1400.   Surviving are his children, Brenda (Timothy) Lewis, Laura Knecht, Michael Knecht; grandchildren, Jonathon Lewis, Gregory Lewis, Riely Knecht, Steven Gaines; great-grandchild, Jade Lewis; sister, Irene Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet; brothers, Alvin, Marvin; sister, Mary Jane Gallagher.  Friends and family may visit the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Oregon, Ohio on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. and Sunday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 p.m. Internment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions in Dons name may be sent to a charity of the donors choice. Visitation: Saturday 5-7 p.m. & Sunday 2-9 p.m. Services: Monday, 1 p.m.
