Donald Francis Wisniewski was born to Sophie and Casimer Wisniewski on October 3, 1930, and graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1949. In 1950 he married Margaret Chapman and together they enjoyed a wonderful life until her death in 1980. During these years he attained journeyman die maker status while employed at the Doehler Jarvis Company. As a UAW member, Don worked as a tool & die maker at the General Motors, Hydramatic Alexis Road plant from 1960 until he retired. He enjoyed his work as well as the friendship and camaraderie of his coworkers at the plant. Together Donald and Margaret's children, Marshall, Susan (Hawkins), Kathy (Niscior), Karen (Fulton), were given the most love, guidance and support any parents could possibly provide.
In 1982, he married Alice Louise Smith. They enjoyed a great retirement life together at their home on Posey Lake, Michigan entertaining friends and family. They also enjoyed traveling and frequent trips with close friends to favorite casinos. In 2005 they moved to Millbury, Ohio.
For many years Donald was very active in the Knights of Columbus, Masons, and Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and enjoyed a life-long love affair with golfing. He also loved boating, Black Jack and spending time with family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Louise, his surviving children and step-son Jeffery (Lynn) Smith and grandchildren, Lisa, Raymond, and Anthony Niscior, Russell Wisniewski, Amanda and Samantha Smith, all of whom he loved very much. He is preceded in death by his first wife Margaret, brother Eugene, daughter Susan (Hawkins), and granddaughter Laura.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 23, 2006, at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, on Woodville Road, in Millbury, Ohio, from 2-9 p.m. On Friday, at 10:30 a.m., there will be a memorial service at the funeral home, followed by interment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family requests any donations or gifts be made in his name to the Knight Hospice Center, in Perrysburg, Ohio.
