Donna Jean (Delphous) Baker, 59, of Genoa, OH, passed away August 15, 2004, in her residence. She was born in Toledo, OH, on June 12, 1945, to Andrew A. and Lois E. (Schlegal) Delphous. Donna was employed 16 years as a nuclear security officer by Toledo Edison at the Davis Besse Nuclear and Bayshore facilities, and was employed 14 years with the Genoa and Clay Township Police Departments. She was the first female police officer in Ottawa County. Donna Jean was a member of St. Peter's UCC, the Fraternal Order of Police in Ottawa County, and the Eagles.
Surviving are her husband, David C.; daughters, DeAnna L. (Charles) Vizi, Dawn M. (Ken) Kovac; sons, David A. (Tami) Baker, Daniel J. (Lisa) Baker; brother, Robert S. (Irene) Delphous; grandchildren, Erin, Rachel, Autumn, Shawna, Kyle, Alyssa, Taylor, Nicholas, Lauren, Donavon, and Danny Joe; sister-in-law, Faye Delphous; special friend, Karen Gruben, and many special nieces and nephews. Donna Jean was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Andrew, Melvin, and Irwin Delphous.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Woodville Road Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, OH, on Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 10:30 a.m with entombment following in Restlawn Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy in Donna Jean's memory can be made to St. Peter's UCC, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or the Clay Township EMS.
