Donna J. Baumgartner, 74 of Rossford, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 11, 2004 in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. Donna was born on June 23, 1930 in Toledo to Otto and Helen (Vick) Asmussen. Mrs. Baumgartner was employed in the billing and physical therapy departments at St. Charles Mercy Hospital for 30 years. She was a member of Rossford United Methodist Church. Donna loved to bake, especially cookies and took joy in sharing them with friends, family and acquaintances. She also enjoyed spending time at her Lake Pleasant summer home. Her real love was her grandchildren and her parakeet "Pete". Surviving are her husband, Jack B. Baumgartner; children, Bonnie (Terry) Meyer Leichty, Diane (Christopher "Kit") Meyer Smith; stepchildren, Jackie (Ron) Dusza, Pam Baumgartner, Judy (Ken) Robbins, Heidi Cook, Todd (Angie) Baumgartner; brothers, Kenneth and Richard (Madelyn) Asmussen; grandchildren, Tiffany Leichty, Kelly Schilling, Philip Smith, Maridee Smith, James Cook, Jacob Cook, Neil Robbins, Kyle Robbins, Jack Baumgartner and Shelly Dusza; great grandchildren, Dylan Dusza, Brennan Kish, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Audrey Rice; sister-in-law, Betty Asmussen and best friend, Linda Drouillard. Friends and family may visit from 2 to 9 pm on Wednesday at Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue, where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Toledo Memorial Park. The family gratefully suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or American Cancer Society.
