Donna (Schuman) Scott peacefully passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, with her family by her side. Donna was born November 15, 1954 to Don and Virginia (Zydel) Schuman. She was the youngest of 5 in a blended family. At age 18, she married George (John) Scott and became a stepmom to 4 children. They were together 40 years before John preceded her in death.
Donna graduated from Whitmer High School in 1972. She was also a graduate of Owens where she learned to use her many social skills as an Occupational Therapy Assistant to help her patients. Donna made lifelong friends with everyone she worked with at St. Vincent's and other area hospitals and rehab centers. She touched many lives with this career and was loved by coworkers and patients alike. She loved you all.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, John; father, Don Schuman; brothers, Don and John Schuman; sister, Kathleen Poynter; and sisters-in-law, Betty Reed and Martha Hayes.
Donna is survived by her mother, Virginia Vivaldi; sister, Lucy Schuman; sister-in-law, Tammy Schuman; children, Deb (Chuck) Oswald, Sandy (Jeff) Duvendack, Barb (JE) Kincaid, and Jon (Sang Mee) Scott; grandchildren, Chip (Lydia) and Chris (Sonya) Rahm, Logan, Dana and Maggie Scott. She was also like a second mother to grandchildren, Jess (Josh Schafer), Rachael (Zach Bell), and Josh Kincaid. Also surviving Donna are 4 great grandchildren as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, too numerous to count. She will be missed by all.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Donna's name may be directed to the Toledo Humane society.
The family would like to thank each and every person that cared for and about Donna at Genacross (now Majestic Care) nursing home. We could not have had her in our lives this long without all of you. We would also like to thank the staff at St. Charles ICU who helped make a terrible situation a little less painful.
