Doris J. Higley, 82, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Lutheran Home at Toledo, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 29, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to William and Esther (Zeller) Mollett. After graduating from Waite High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Donald Higley on November 22, 1947. She worked as a secretary at LOF prior to staying home to raise her two children. She was a talented artist, and enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was active in Girl Scouts, CCL, and was a lifelong member of First St. John Lutheran Church. Doris is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald; daughter, Connie (William) Wiener; daughter-in-law, Pamela Holt-Higley, of North Carolina; grandchildren, Matthew (fiancé Melissa Kudelka) Wiener, Kara (Grady) Goa, and Amanda (Ken) Keske, of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Jacob, Grady Joe, and Emerson Goa; sister, Vivian (Theodore) Sharlow; cousins, Dorothy Zeadker and Bill Meier; and brother-in-law, Joe Grady. Doris is also survived by many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Robert, sister, Virginia Kohlman, and sister-in-law, Joyce Grady. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in First St. John Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman Road, Toledo. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.
