Doris Jean (Whaley) Jirinec of Oregon, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 3, 2007. She was born April 16, 1919 in Morenci, Michigan to Lawrence and Phoebe (Balcom) Whaley. She married Charles J.. Jirinec on May 18, 1940. Doris was an extraordinary woman who touched the lives and hearts of everyone she met. She dearly loved her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother. Doris was very creative, talented, fun loving, and always full of e nergy. She was artful at homemaking and an excellent cook. She played the piano, taught Sunday school, and during the 1950s she worked at Wakelin Studios where she was a portrait color artist. For years she was a member of Collingwood Methodist Church, Toledo and then later at Christ United Methodist Church, Oregon where she participated in the Early Risers Circle. She was known for her love of doll collecting, and was an active member for many years in the Buckeye Doll Club of Oh io. Doris will be greatly missed by her adoring husband of 67 years, Charles J.; her son, Jeffrey (Christi) Jirinec; daughter, Janice S. (Michael) Mason; grandchildren, Shelly Sorrentino, Jennifer Robinson, Michael Mason II, Daniel Mason, Matthew Mason and Nathan Jirinec; 10 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Road on Friday from 11am until 2p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. in the Christ United Methodist Church, 5757 Starr Ave. Ext, Oregon, Ohio. Private Interment will be held at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Stein Hospice Service Inc. or the Christ United Methodist Church.
