Doris D. Kowalka, 83, of Jackson, MI and formerly of Toledo and Port Clinton, OH went home to be with God on  August 3, 2006 in Foote Hospital. She was born in Crestline, OH on June 19, 1923. Doris had owned and operated Kowalka Sporting Goods Store with her husband, Arthur, who preceded her in death.  She was an avid fisherman and loved reading and crocheting.   Surviving are her sons, John (Darlene), Robert and David (Diana) Kowalka; daughter, Barbara (Richard) Losie; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Doris also was preceded in death by her grandson, James Arthur Kowalka and great-grandsons, Shane Jones and Jerry Lee Murry.   Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, OH on Sunday, August 6, 2006 from  5 until 9 pm.  Pastor Kurt Tomlinson will officiate the  services  in the funeral home on Monday  at  12 noon with visitation 1 hour prior.   Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
