Doris Jean Lindsey "Grandma Honey", 86, of Sylvania, Ohio, and formerly of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Promedica Ebeid Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.
Doris was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on May 19, 1928 to Raymond and Marie (Robbins) Eddington. On December 21, 1943, she married the love of her life Robert Lindsey. Doris dreamed of having a large family and often remarked, "I got what I wanted". As a Mother of six children, Doris will be remembered for the love she showed to each of her children and their families. She always loved and protected her family and will be remembered as being caring and selfless. Doris was a woman of faith and all who knew her were blessed. After raising her family, Doris enjoyed working at K-Mart for 25 years, retiring in 1993.
Doris is survived by her children, Robert Lindsey (Sandy Russell), Melva Permar, Barbara (Pete) Atherine, David (Kathy) Lindsey, Jeannie Lindsey, and Donald Lindsey; grandchildren, Karen (William) Poore, Robert Lindsey III (Andrea Taliga), Mark (Sheri) Lindsey, Michael (Jennifer) Lindsey, Betty Ann (Daniel) Base, Michelle (Andrew) Schultz, Pete (Emily) Atherine III, Nick (Jenny) Atherine, David P. (Jessica) Lindsey, Julie (Josh) Greenlee, Lisa (Gregory) Cronkright, Tristian (James Robert) Rice, and Wesley James Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Lindsey Poore, Jordan Spidel, Cameron and Ryan Lindsey, Jackson Jones, Max and Maggie Lindsey, Jessica, Zachary and Nicholas Base, Emelie and Carly Schultz, Eliza and Gus Atherine, Jordan Atherine, David Jr., Maggie and JackieRay Lindsey, Teddy and Charlie Greenlee, Tyler, Chloe and Paige Cronkright, and Rayder Neil Rice; along with many loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brother, Orville Ray "Pete" (Gloria) Eddington; and son-in-law, Richard Permar.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
