Doris L. McVicker, 82, of Patakala, Ohio and formerly of Northwood, OH passed away May 24, 2004 in Patakala Oaks Nursing Home. She was born in Jobs, OH on June 28, 1921 to William and Hazel (Rife) Giffin and was the widow of Donald McVicker who passed away in 1971. Doris had been employed by St. Charles Hospital as a laundress for 30 years. She was a member of the Northwood VFW Women's Auxiliary. Surviving are her nephews, William (Peggy), Robert (Pam), Mike (Karen) and Jim Giffin; sisters-in-law, Polly and Betty Giffin and many great nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Robert and James Giffin. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Friday, May 28, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in North Oregon Cemetery.
