Obituary

Doris Jean Weil, born in Fairhope, Pennsylvania, May 29, 1926 to Mary Agnes (Hunter) and Vern Swaney passed away at University of Toledo Medical Center on August 30, 2007. She grew up primarily in Pennsylvania, graduated from high school in Youngstown, Ohio and was soon transferred by Western Union to work in Chicago as a telegraph operator. During a visit to her mother and stepfather in Toledo, she met a handsome WWII Navy vet and fell in love. After marrying John Weil on October 12, 1945 they resided in Toledo. Doris worked for Toledo Edison and Aetna Insurance for many years. Doris and John had several hobbies, two of which were breeding and showing Shelties and miniature Daschunds and collecting and selling antiques. Doris served as Treasurer of the Toledo Kennel Club for fifteen years, only giving up the position when she recently became ill.   Preceded in death by her mother, father, stepfather, Louis Woods, and her husband, John, who died eight years ago, she leaves her son John Jr., and wife, Stephana in Minoka, IL; his four children, Rebecca, Meredith (Cale and 2 great grandchildren, Russell and Doris; her son, Sand and wife, Robin in Stony Ridge, Ohio and their three sons, Sand, Chad and Jacob; sister, Martha Adams in Stowe, Ohio; brother, Louis Woods, Jr. in Holland, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Woods, Toledo,  Jesse Myers, Toledo, and June Buchholz, Gulfport, Mississippi.   A Memorial Service will be held at Lutheran Church of the Master, 28744 Simmons Road, Perrysburg, OH on Saturday, September 15 at noon. Memorials may be given to the Toledo Animal Shelter or the charity of the donor's choice. Visitation: Visitation Times No Visitation
