Dorothy Dean DeVaul, 97, formerly of Northwood, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 17, 2022 surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born March 7, 1925 in Lowes, Kentucky to Maxie and Mary Alta (Clark) Duncan. For 23 years, Dorothy worked as a medical secretary with Visiting Nurse Service. Dorothy was a longtime member of Echo Meadows Church of Christ, coordinating funeral dinners for many years and attended Thursday morning bible class. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed traveling, and took great pride in the many flowers she grew around her home. Dorothy's greatest love was spending time with her family and decorating her home to perfection for every holiday. Dorothy is survived by her children Trudy (Jim) Magers, Richard (Nancie) DeVaul, Deborah (Mark) Kristie, Denise (Ron) Weaks, Tammy (Jeff) Winfrey, and Tracy (Tom) Boisselle; daughter-in-law, Mary DeVaul; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn (William) Slagle; brother, Len Duncan; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, Clayton; step-son, Kenneth DeVaul; sister, Hilda Hendricks; and brother, Don Duncan. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Friday, July 22, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00 am in Echo Meadows Church of Christ, 2905 Starr Avenue, Oregon, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am.
