Dorothy Caroline Geisert, 85, of Oregon passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Arbors of Sylvania. Dorothy was born on August 22, 1922 in Pemberville, Ohio to Otto and Olga (Patzer) Bushman. Mrs. Geisert was a member of the Child Conservation League, GBU and St. Mark Lutheran Church where she was past president of the Womens club and served as a Bible and Sunday School teacher. She also served as a volunteer at the Lutheran Home of Toledo. As a gifted seamstress she volunteered to make all the draperies for the new building at the home and was recognized for over 5000 hours of service. She was also a member of the POW Wives and the Shrine Ladies. Dorothy loved swimming and boating and enjoyed traveling with the Shrine Mariners.
Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years, Robert; daughter, Lynne Shoup; son, David (Kathryn) Geisert; grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) Draper, Stacy (Michael) Wolfram; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Draper, Kacey Draper, Camryn Draper and Dale Wolfram; sister-in-law, Joyce Reitz. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Naomi Loy; twin brother, Donald Bushman and son-in-law, Gerald Shoup.
Friends may call in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road where visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 am in St. Mark Lutheran Church, Woodville and Elmore Streets. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Dorothys memory can be made to either St. Mark Lutheran Church or the Shrine Hospitals.
