March 5, 1932 – September 1, 2022
Dorothy J. Kovesdi, 90 of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Thursday, September 1,
2022 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. Dorothy was born in Toledo, Ohio on March
5, 1932 to Ernest and Helen (Potoczki) Okos. Surviving are her husband,
Joseph A. Kovesdi; sister, Eleanor; children, Joseph E. (Robin) Kovesdi, Kathy
(Jim) Besgrove; grandchildren, Emee Kovesdi, Lindsey (Chris) Felder, Joseph
L (Elizabeth) Kovesdi, Candyce (Adam) Mallett, Derek (Erin) Besgrove, Ashley
Pax, Kendyll (Chaz) Bobbs, and Casey (Lexi) Kovesdi; and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Helen Okos; brother Ernie;
sister, Helen Rose; and sons, Gary and Robert Kovesdi. Dorothy graduated from
St. Stephen's Elementary School and then Whitney High School. She was a
devoted Catholic who frequently prayed the Rosary.
Dorothy worked and retired from the meat department at Food Town grocery store.
She also worked at Hunt's Foods during their busy season. Dorothy was dedicated
to her family and helped provide for the college education of her children. She
assisted them in any way possible to assure their happiness and comfort. Dorothy
was also athletic, participating in softball (pitcher) and golf (Chippewa Golf Course).
Later, she greatly enjoyed watching her children's and grandchildren's sporting
events. Dorothy was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
When her eldest son (Robert) was sick, she spent a large portion of her day
caring for him. She will be missed by all her loving family who are greatly thankful
for her caring and commitment. She lived a wonderful and successful life and now
is in heaven with God. Private services will be held on September 24 at St.
Ignatius Cemetery.
