Obituary

Dorothy Lee Kudlinski, 88, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at The Gardens of St. Francis in Oregon, Ohio.

Dorothy was born on January 7, 1938, in Piqua, Ohio, to George and Rosemary (Sweetman) Stivers. She graduated from Scott High School in 1955 before earning her nursing degree. Dorothy devoted many years to caring for others as an LPN at ProMedica Toledo Hospital and other healthcare facilities throughout her career.

On November 28, 1959, Dorothy married the love of her life, Norman "Duke" Kudlinski, at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral in Toledo. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and adventure, creating countless memories while raising their children and traveling across the country.

A faithful member of St. Adalbert Church, Dorothy drew strength from her faith throughout her life. After courageously battling cancer, she became a member of "Kicked Cancer" in 2003. She also volunteered with the auxiliaries at ProMedica Bay Park Hospital and Mercy Health - St. Charles Hospital.

Dorothy loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, on Alaskan cruises, and to Costa Rica. She and Duke also enjoyed boating and fishing, owning four boats over the years. An avid reader, she continued to enjoy books through audiobooks after cancer treatment affected her eyesight.

Above all, Dorothy treasured her family. She will be remembered for her compassionate heart, quiet strength, adventurous spirit, and the love she shared with everyone around her.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, Norman "Duke" Kudlinski; daughter, Diana (Rex) Blevins; son, David (Sandra) Kudlinski; grandchildren, Luke and Rachel; and great-grandchildren, Tristan, Hudson, Gavin, and Robert "Tito".

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at The Gardens of St. Francis, 930 S. Wynn Rd., Oregon, Ohio, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at The Gardens of St. Francis for the exceptional care and kindness they provided.

Dorothy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
