Dorothy Jane Purser, 83, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, May 05, 2007, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Dorothy was born in Jackson, Michigan on March 29, 1924, to Harold and Donna (Findley) Gillingham and was raised in Perrysburg, Ohio by her mother and stepfather, Fred Fredrick. Upon graduating from Perrysburg High School she was employed by Riverside Hospital in the admitting department. She also worked for Dunn Chevy and National Family Opinion as a telephone interviewer for several years retiring in 1993. She was active with Welcome Wagon for many years, enjoyed bowling at Eastern lanes and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Barbara S. (Al) Schneider of Stow, OH and Lynnette M. Raymond of Oregon, OH; grandchildren, Douglas, Krissi, Stephanie, and Heather; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Donovan, Carson, Adam, David, Shawnee, Dustin and Branden. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence "Bill" in 1977 and sister, Shirley Leveton.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. in the funeral home on Tuesday with interment following in Restlawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Dorothy's memory are asked to consider Christ United Methodist Church.
