Dorothy M. Stoldt, 92, of Toledo, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2009, at the Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek. Dorothy was born on November 12, 1916, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Frederick and Susan (Deichler) Myers. The family moved to Toledo when she was 3 years old. She was the widow of Lorin J. Stoldt. Mrs. Stoldt was employed at the City of Toledo Water Department until she began to work at her father's furniture store, F. S. Myers & Son on Main Street in East Toledo. She would become president of the business when they moved to their Bryne Road location. In the 1940's she was a member of the former Bethany Methodist Church where she served as choir director and enjoyed singing solos for various occasions. Dorothy would later become a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She is survived by the family that she dearly loved, her son, Lorin (Dorothy) Stoldt and daughter, Sue Irwin; grandchildren, Debra, Rick (Renee), Robert and Fred Stoldt, Rodney (Beth) Irwin, Penny (Chris) Black, William (Dell) Irwin and Joanne Rawson; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jim and Don Myers; sisters-in-law, Margaret and Lula Myers, Olive Messimore and Anna Mae Reitz Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, where visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family requests memorial contributions in Dorothy's memory to be made to Faith United Methodist Church. The family wishes to thank the staff of Wolf Creek for their loving care of Dorothy.
