Douglas E. Knopp, 75, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 12, 1947 to Daniel D. and Mabel M. (Epker) Knopp. He graduated from Waite High School, Class of 1965. After graduating, Doug would proudly serve his country in the United States Army. After serving in the military, Doug was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad and the Postal Service, but he will be best known as the owner of the East Broadway Nite Club until its closing in 2003. He had a passion for collecting Civil War memorabilia, traveling and playing chess, but most of all spending time with his beloved wife, Sandy.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; siblings Britt Charles (Pat) Knopp, Daniel (Margie) Knopp, Vicki (Rick) Orovitz and many nieces, nephews and loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Craig Knopp.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon, Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Wednesday July 19, 2023 from 2:00 pm until the time of funeral services at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Paralyzed Veterans of America or Lucas County Humane Society. Sandy would like to thank Danny, Andy, Katie and Zak as well as Doug's caregivers from Visiting Angels for their constant help and care.
