Dwight A. Surgo, 64, of Toledo, Ohio passed away May 5, 2010 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 16, 1945 to Andrew and Louise (Salona) Surgo. Dwight was a graduate of Waite High School. He was a member of the National Guard and had been employed at L.O.F. as a glass worker for 30 years, retiring in 1995. Dwight was an active life time member of St. Paul'™s Lutheran Church downtown, and the VFW Post 4906. He was an excellent athlete and enjoyed playing golf and softball. Dwight was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and was a life time season ticket holder for the Toledo hockey teams. He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed many fishing trips with his family and friends.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughters, Amy (Dennis) Whitaker and Susan (Becky McCreery) Surgo; sons, Todd (Lisa) and Toby (Cheryl) Surgo; Dan and Joan Norman; grandchildren, Demy, Drew, Andrew, Kyle and Ryan; his church family and many close friends.
Friends and family may visit at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, May 10, 2010 from 4-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. Expressions of sympathy in Dwight'™s memory can be made to the charity of the donor'™s choice.
