Edith M. Cowles, 91, of Millbury and Moline, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2003 in Otterbein Portage Valley, where she had been a resident for the past 4 years. She was born in Millbury on May 6, 1911 to Lewis and Edith (Dye) Albright. Edith was married on July 19, 1934 in Findlay, Ohio to Wayne Cowles, who preceded her in death in 1991. Mrs. Cowles was a life long member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church in Millbury and was active in the Ladies Guild. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Genoa and participated in many activities at Portage Valley. Surviving are her daughters, Donna (Joel) Sandwisch and Dianne (James) Schumaker; sister, Evelyn Korn; grandchildren, Darci (Tim) Ault, Todd (Nancy) Sandwisch, Annette (Leo) Mazzoli, Brian (Angie) Schumaker; great grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor and Kylee Ault, Casey and Craig Mazzoli, Trent and Emily Sandwisch. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and her granddaughter, Andrea Schumaker. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 am in St. Pauls United Methodist Church, Millbury, Ohio. Friends may call in the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, Woodville Road Chapel, where visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 9 pm. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to either St. Paul United Methodist, Otterbein Portage Valley or the charity of the donors choice.
