Edith L. "Edie" (Metzger) DeLisle, 87, of Oregon, OH passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in the Lutheran Home at Toledo. She was born in Toledo on April 24, 1918 to Fred and Anna (Miller) Metzger and was married to Virgil H. Delisle for 62 years until his death in 2001. In her later years, she worked at the Lakewood Greenhouse in Northwood where the friendships she made blessed her life.
Love of God and service to others were both important to Edith. She was a lifelong active member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Her volunteer work included the Market Basket Program at Lutheran Social Services and the Lutheran Home at Toledo. She was also active with the Oregon Senior Center.
Surviving are her sister, Hazel (Ken) Brandenburg of Twinsburg, OH and several nieces and nephews. All will miss her lively letters and delightful sense of humor.
