Edith I. Jewell, 83, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Gardens of St. Francis. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 19, 1943. On March 31, 1961 she married the love of her life, John Jewell. Edith enjoyed birds, animals and her stuffed animals. She was an avid reader, enjoyed socializing, especially if it was at BINGO, latch hooking rugs, playing card games especially rummy, but what she cherished most was her loving family.

She is survived by her children, Barbara (James) Cornell and James Jewell; grandchildren, Ben and Jacob Cornell. She was preceded in death by her; husband, John; sister, Susan Shepard; and daughter, Mary Jewell.

Friends and family may visit Gardens of St. Francis, 930 S Wynn Rd, Oregon, OH 43616, on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 1:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Edith's name may be directed to Lutheran Home of Mercy.
