Edith E. Ruffert, 88, died surrounded by her loving family on December 10, 1914 at Heritage Inn, Bowling Green, OH, where she had resided for the past 7 years. She was born on December 13, 2003 in Bono, OH to David and Gertrude (Bodi) Aubry. Edith was a graduate of Waite High School and was employed by St. Charles Hospital as a practical nurse for 18 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Bowling Green and a former member of St. Mark Lutheran Church on Woodville Road, Toledo, OH. Edith found special joy in making beautiful afghans.
Surviving are her children, Bonnie (Thomas) Newby, Bowling Green, OH, Judith (John) Herman, Trenton, MI and David (Barbra) Ruffert, Toledo, OH; 10 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, William Ruffert.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Friday, December 12, 2003 from 2-9 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Contributions in Edith's memory can be made to Bridge Hospice, Bowling Green, OH or the building fund at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Bowling Green, OH. Edith's family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Heritage Inn and Bridge Hospice for their special care.
